Welcome to Scroll+! These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your use of the Scroll+ mobile application ('App') and website at scroll.pics ('Website'), operated by OWL APP LTD ('Company', 'we', 'us', 'our'). By downloading, installing, or using the App or Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
Scroll+ offers two types of usage: Offline Mode (No Account) - Read PDF and EPUB books locally without signing in. Suitable for all ages. Online Mode (With Account) - Access leaderboards, sync progress, and gamification features. Requires account creation. By creating an account, you confirm that: (a) you are at least 13 years of age OR have parental/guardian consent; (b) you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms; (c) you will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
ACCOUNT RULES
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others or allow others to access your account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including but not limited to: cheating in gamification features, offensive usernames, harassment of other users, or attempts to manipulate leaderboards.
LICENSE TO USE
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Scroll+ for personal, non-commercial purposes. Scroll+ is provided free of charge. All intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets, remain the property of OWL APP LTD or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on Scroll+ without our prior written consent.
USER CONTENT
You retain ownership of any content you upload or create within Scroll+, including bookmarks, notes, highlights, and reading statistics. By using Scroll+, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely for providing the service to you. Your content is stored locally on your device and, if you choose to sync, on our secure servers. We do not claim ownership of your books or reading materials.
PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
You agree not to: (a) use automated systems (bots, scripts) to manipulate gamification features; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts; (c) upload malicious files or code; (d) use Scroll+ to distribute illegal or harmful content; (e) interfere with the proper functioning of the service; (f) attempt to circumvent any security measures; (g) exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for unfair advantage.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
SCROLL+ IS PROVIDED 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR USEFULNESS OF ANY CONTENT. YOUR USE OF SCROLL+ IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OWL APP LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF SCROLL+. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US (IF ANY) IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.
CHANGES TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of Scroll+ after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. EU consumers may also have access to alternative dispute resolution through the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
