2. DATA LOCALITY & COLLECTION

Book files and PDF/EPUB processing stay on your device. If you use optional online features, we process limited account and Nova data. Website analytics load only after consent.

• Authentication: Google Sign-In is used for your Scroll+ account, profile, Nova, streak, and leaderboard access. It does not synchronize book files or reading position across devices.
• Online activity: We process the account, Nova, title, streak, and leaderboard data needed to provide those features.
• Zero-Cloud File Policy: We do NOT collect, scan, or store your book files. PDF and Markdown processing happens 100% locally using our proprietary device-side engine.

3. PERMISSIONS

The app requests the following system permissions:

• Storage: To read locally stored PDF/Markdown documents.
• Brightness: Used to apply the reading display setting you choose.

4. SECURITY

Data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We do not sell personal data. No internet service can be promised as completely risk-free.

6. GDPR RIGHTS (EU USERS)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under GDPR. You have the right to: (a) Access, correct, or update your personal information; (b) Request deletion of your personal data; (c) Object to processing of your personal data; (d) Data portability; (e) Withdraw consent. 9. DATA RETENTION

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Offline reading: Reading local PDF and EPUB files does not require an account. Online features: Profile, Nova, streak, and leaderboard features require an account and are intended only for users who meet the applicable age or parental-consent requirements. 10. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use Google Sign-In for authentication. On the website, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after analytics consent and may process usage information under their own privacy policies. We do not sell personal data.

11. COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use cookies and similar technologies to: (a) keep you signed in; (b) analyze app usage; (c) improve our services. You can manage cookie preferences through your device settings.
